Obituary for Darcy Renee Eilders

Darcy R. Eilders, age 66, of Saylorville, Iowa, died unexpectedly Tuesday, April 14, 2020 following a surgery at Iowa Methodist Hospital.
Darcy Renee (Brinkema) Eilders was born December 20, 1953 in Story City, Iowa. She was the daughter of Juvenal (Tom) Ace Brinkema and Evelyn Jane (Hanson) Gembler Cretin and stepfather John T. Cretin. She married Dennis E. Maronn and had two sons, Brooks and Brady. Darcy then married Mark N. Eilders and together enjoyed 35 years of life. They cherished their time together. They would vacation to outdoor destinations. Darcy loved to cook and bake, and they would often find themselves in the kitchen cooking and baking together. Mark even helped with making her famous cheesecake, but that’s another story! Darcy’s cheesecake and baked goods were favorites of her family and friends.
One of Marks favorite memories is when they would be driving and Darcy would sing to the song that was on the radio. He loved it when she sang. At family get togethers Darcy was always right there in the mix helping us celebrate. She loved to laugh and have fun. She loved to Dance which she did very well and sometimes it was hard for Mark to keep up! Darcy deeply loved her sister Julie and when they got together, they picked up right where they left off. Darcy and her mother had a very close relationship. She was thankful to be able to care for her mom in her home during the latter part of Evelyn’s life. Darcy adored her boys and grandchildren and proudly watched her grandchildren’s music and sporting events. After moving to Saylorville Darcy was able to spend more time with her son Brady, which meant a lot to her.
She had a tender heart, but she wasn’t afraid to speak her mind. She had a strong faith and believed in the power of prayer. Darcy lived out her faith by serving others and giving back. She worked in health care for many years before her retirement. Darcy will be greatly missed and be remembered for being a loving wife, mother and grandmother.
