Obituary for Kaylissa Ann Wiechmann

Kaylissa Wiechmann, age 85, of Hubbard, IA, passed peacefully on August 16, 2020, at the Hubbard Care Center.
Kaylissa Ann (Eller) Wiechmann was born April 24, 1935, at home in Alden, Iowa to Gerald Truman (G.T.) and June (Meeker) Eller. She grew up on a farm in the Radcliffe Community and in 1953 she graduated from the Radcliffe High School.
On September 25, 1953, she was united in marriage to Merrill Erwin Wiechmann at the old EUB Church in Hubbard. To this union, four children were born and raised on the Wiechmann family farm west of Hubbard. She taught her children to love God first and to stand up for what is right. She debated topics with passion and her advice could be trusted.
Merrill and Kay were founders and charter members of the Faith Evangelical Church in Radcliffe and they hosted numerous missionaries in their home over the years.
Kay loved to travel, so in 1969, she became a tour hostess, and took groups to the Holy Land, Middle East, Europe, and the United States.
In 1974, she successfully owned and operated the Manna House Restaurant in Hubbard and later opened the White House in Radcliffe.
In 1983, she and Merrill built a life near Rolla, Missouri area where she guided tours to the Jefferson City Missouri Capitol building, made many quilts, served on City Council in Vienna, Missouri, drove dealer trades, obtained her realtors license, and loved making memories with the grandchildren when they stayed for mini Missouri vacations. They moved back to Iowa, closer to family, in 2002.
Kaylissa passed away peacefully, to be with Jesus, on August 16, 2020 at the Hubbard Care Center.
Those surviving are her four children Crystal (Phil) Garrison of Centerville, Iowa, Corwin (Dena) Wiechmann of Hubbard, Iowa, Suzanne (Mike) Grothe of Madrid, Iowa and Tamra (Ted) Kjormoe-Vosburg of Ackley, Iowa; 23 grandchildren and 42 great-grandchildren; brother Dick (Cheryl) Eller; along with many other relatives and friends.
Kaylissa was preceded in death by her parents, her husband Merrill, grandson Austin Wiechmann, grandson Ethan Garrison, brother Jim Eller and sister-in-law Judy Eller.
